Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare dishes as per the menu (breakfast items, simple hot meals, pastries).
  • Maintain general cleanliness and uphold café hygiene standards.
  • Ensure proper storage of food items, kitchen equipment, and accessories.
  • Assist with stocktaking of ingredients and equipment; place orders to replenish stock.
  • Receive and respond to customer feedback; implement improvements.
  • Ensure meals are prepared on time.
  • Evaluate food products to consistently meet quality standards.
  • Maintain correct food portions and ensure high-quality food presentation.
  • Minimize wastage.
  • Enforce safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards within the kitchen.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned.

Requirements:

  • Health Certification/Food Handlers Certificate.
  • At least a Certificate in Hospitality and Catering (Food Production Option).
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a working cook.
  • Strong attention to detail in sanitation and quality control.
  • Portfolio showcasing creative and unique dishes.
  • Excellent multitasking skills.
  • Ability to conduct stocktaking and make resupply orders.
  • Strong work ethic in a fast-paced, high-stress kitchen environment.
  • Passion for cuisine.
  • Work-oriented, proactive, with strong communication skills.
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Rongai area.
