Responsibilities or duties
Coordinate all field logistics and operational activities for assignments implemented in Somalia.
Recruit, train, supervise, and manage field enumerators and data collection teams.
Liaise with local partners, humanitarian actors, local authorities, and community leaders.
Ensure compliance with security protocols, safeguarding standards, and ethical research practices.
Coordinate community entry processes and local stakeholder engagement.
Oversee data collection quality assurance processes including spot checks and back-checking.
Facilitate FGDs, KIIs, IDIs, and household surveys.
Support translation and contextual adaptation of tools where necessary.
Prepare field updates and logistical reports.
Ensure timely completion of all field activities
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Health, or related field.
Fluency in Somali and English is required.
Strong coordination, logistical, and team management skills.
Experience needed
Minimum of 5 years of experience coordinating field data collection in Somalia, preferably in Lower Juba or Afmadow District.
Demonstrated experience working in humanitarian and fragile contexts.
Experience working with IDP populations and vulnerable communities.
Experience with digital data collection systems is an added advantage.
