Responsibilities or duties

Under the overall guidance of the Deputy Representative Programmes, and supervision of the Chief Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation (PME), the consultant will provide technical support to the development of the CPD of UNICEF Kenya, starting from the deprivation prioritization, support for development of key documents to the final write-up of the Country Programme Document. The key duties and responsibilities of the consultant include the following:

  • Conceptualize and finalize the key process steps and a detailed work plan for the CPD development preparation process
  • Provide guidance, quality assurance and templates and coordinate steps for the new Country Programme Document development process – the key strategic documents and processes (e.g. results based management [RBM] orientation, deprivation prioritization and visioning exercise, theories of change, programme notes, Results and Resources Plan and Framework and consultations)
  • Draft a child centred CPD to be submitted to ESARO and the Executive Board for review, and finalize with feedback

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Minimum requirements:

Education: A master`s degree in Social Sciences, Development / International Studies

Experience needed

Work Experience: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in leading strategic planning processes, including leading UNICEF CPD development processes
