Role Objective
A reputable boutique law firm in Nairobi is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Court Clerk to provide administrative and litigation support. The successful candidate will facilitate smooth court operations, manage legal documentation, and ensure timely filing and follow-up of matters before various courts and registries.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize legal documents with courts and relevant government offices.
- Attend court registries to file, collect, and process case documents.
- Monitor court dates, rulings, and case progress, updating advocates accordingly.
- Maintain accurate case files, registers, and legal records.
- Serve legal documents to parties in compliance with court procedures.
- Coordinate movement of files between the firm, courts, and external agencies.
- Retrieve and organize documents required for hearings and client matters.
- Assist in preparing court bundles and other litigation materials.
- Scan, archive, and safeguard confidential legal records.
- Liaise with court officials, clients, and regulatory offices where necessary.
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties within the legal department.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
- Diploma in Law, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 years experience in a legal or law firm environment.
- Practical experience with court filing procedures and legal documentation.
- Familiarity with civil and commercial litigation processes will be an advantage.
