Job Summary
The Credit Analyst will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of loan applicants, analyzing financial statements, and making recommendations on loan approvals. This role plays a crucial part in managing the bank's credit risk and ensuring the soundness of its loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough financial analysis of loan applications, including review of financial statements, cash flow projections, and collateral.
- Assess the credit risk associated with each loan application and provide well-reasoned recommendations to the credit committee.
- Ensure compliance with the bank's credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the performance of existing loans and identify potential risks or early warning signs.
- Prepare credit reports and presentations for management and the credit committee.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date loan files and documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Credit Analyst or in a similar role within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment, and loan structuring.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
