JOB DETAILS:
Role: Dashboard Engineer.
Reporting to: Data and Dashboard Architect.
Location: Nairobi - Kenya.

The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Dashboard Engineer to lead the development of data systems (Data, Dashboards, and Analytics) with 5 years of proven experience in creating enterprise-level systems dashboards using various technology and data sources. You will discover ways to organize, store and analyze data with attention to security and confidentiality.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of databases and data analysis procedures. The goal is to ensure that informative dashboards that drive action are available to various stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science Engineering, IT, Data science, or a related field
• 5 years of hands-on experience and strong knowledge about the design and development of dashboards using tools such as Superset, Tableau, PowerBI, Angular, Qlikview, Qliksense, etc.
• Strong proficiency in query and reporting tools as well as MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and CouchDB database technologies
• Comfortable with advanced analytics tools such as Advanced SQL, Pandas, R, etc.
• Scripting proficiency in python etc. is desirable
• Basic Linux skills
• Ability to take lead in the data synthesis process, solution design, and creation of actionable insights, implications, and recommendations to address the program/business issues
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to structure & solve business problems, innovating, where required

Responsibilities
• Design, development, and maintenance of user-friendly, visually intuitive, and customizable dashboards (as well as automated reports, presentations, reporting templates, etc.), which are robust, reliable, scalable, and dynamic by querying, processing, and analyzing the underlying data (program as well as internal) using tools or combination of tools such as Klipfolio, Superset, Tableau, Angular, PowerBI, Qlikview, Qliksense, etc.
• Provide dashboard views that reflect KPIs as identified by the involved stakeholders to support effective program delivery and execution as well as decision-making within the organization through easy-to-consume, insightful, actionable, data-driven insights and identifying the key themes and patterns from the dataset.
• Work with GSE engineers and other stakeholders to design, develop and establish a reliable and robust data infrastructure including a data pipeline and data warehousing solution with a view to realizing the organizational vision around data use for informed and timely decision making
• Work with other health teams and designers to understand, clarify and document partner data analysis and reporting needs. Provide guidance and insight on data visualization options for dashboard design.
• Work with the support and M&E teams to enhance data collection structures and procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
• Building/developing component-based web apps to integrate multiple sources of metrics/tools
• Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects
• Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades, etc.)
• Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses
• Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications.
