Job Summary
The Deck Crew is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ship's deck department. This includes a variety of tasks related to navigation, mooring, cargo handling, and general maintenance of the ship's exterior.
Responsibilities
- Assist in navigation and watchkeeping duties.
- Participate in mooring and unmooring operations.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of deck equipment and areas.
- Operate deck machinery such as winches and cranes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Assist in emergency response situations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of maritime operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including outdoor conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to obtain a Seafarer's Medical Certificate.
Experience
Previous experience in a maritime or related field is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.
