Job Summary

The role-holder provides a comprehensive dental care to patients, addressing their needs through examinations, consultations, and a range of procedures while ensuring clinic efficiency and quality assurance in line with hospital policies and prevailing regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attend to patients reporting to the dental clinic, conducting thorough examinations and consultations to assess dental health.
  • Address dental emergencies by providing prompt and effective treatment to alleviate pain and prevent further complications.
  • Review patient charts and medical histories to develop personalized treatment plans that address individual dental needs.
  • Perform a variety of dental procedures, including fillings, extractions, root canals, and crowns, ensuring high-quality care and patient satisfaction.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, to accurately diagnose dental problems and determine appropriate treatments.
  • Supervise dental staff, providing guidance and ensuring efficient clinic operations to maintain a high standard of care.
  • Participate in the continuous review and improvement of departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality assurance and compliance with best practices.
  • Train dental students on attachment, fostering the next generation of oral health professionals by providing hands-on experience and mentorship.
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time,

Education/Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree of Dental Surgery or related field from a recognized institution
  • The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
  • Have a minimum of 3 year' experience in working in a Dental Surgery or related field
