Tourism Fund (TF) is a State Corporation established under the Tourism Act, 2011 which came into operation on 1st September, 2012 vide special issue Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 93 of 24th August, 2012.

Responsibilities or duties

Coordinating the legal services function.

Formulating, implementing and reviewing legal policies and procedures.

Providing legal risk reviews and advice on mitigation.

Representing the Fund in court matters and managing litigation.

Ensuring compliance with policies and strategies.

Undertaking legal research and preparing opinions and memoranda.

Advising on legal and regulatory compliance.

Advising on legal requirements relating to property, staff and litigation matters.

Drafting contracts and legal documents.

Initiating legislative amendments to support the Fund’s mandate.

Reviewing and ensuring contracts and policies comply with statutory requirements.

Vetting and negotiating contracts, agreements and legal instruments.

Managing and undertaking performance management.

Assisting the Corporation Secretary in providing secretariat services.

Registering the Fund’s intellectual property.

Undertaking risk mitigation in the functional area.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant experience, with at least four (4) years at Principal Officer level or equivalent.

Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution.

Master’s degree in Law (LL.M), Social Sciences, Business Administration or equivalent.

Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Advocates Training Programme) from the Kenya School of Law.

Admission to the Roll of Advocates of the High Court of Kenya.

Membership to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) in good standing.

Leadership course certificate lasting at least four (4) weeks.

Proficiency in computer applications.
