Job Purpose:
The Deputy Director, Research and Policy will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight in the development, coordination, and implementation of research and policy initiatives that inform and support judicial education and training programmes. The Deputy Director will ensure that training content is evidence-based, aligned with current and emerging jurisprudential trends, and contributes to judicial excellence.
Job Requirements: Academic and Professional Qualifications:
For appointment to the position of Deputy Director, Research and Policy, an applicant must possess the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree in any of the following fields: Law, Legal Studies, Jurisprudence or relevant Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
- Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from a recognized institution.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Advocates Training Programme)from the Kenya School of Law or an exemption from Council of Legal Education.
- Be admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
- Have demonstrable competence in the performance of administrative duties.
- Membership to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
- Have proficiency in computer applications.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
- A leadership management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
Experience:
At least fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience, with at least three (3) years of which must have been at the grade of Assistant Director, or in a comparable position.
- Master’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, Jurisprudence or relevant Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
- Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from a recognized institution.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Advocates Training Programme) from the Kenya School of Law or an exemption from Council of Legal Education.
- Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
- Demonstrable competence in the performance of administrative duties.
- Membership to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
- Proficiency in computer applications.
