Job & Person Specifications
The Director, Policy, Research and Strategy will be responsible for Policy and strategy development and monitoring performance of the Board. In addition, She/he will be responsible for overseeing the policy formulation, Research, Quality Assurance, Coordination of Risks Management and Performance Management.
The Director, Policy, Research and Strategy will be reporting to the to the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer.
Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: -
- Coordinate the development and review of the Boards strategies and mission;
- Coordinating the development of the Boards strategic plan and monitor its implementation;
- Overseeing the develop and review of policies and procedures on planning and quality assurance;
- Coordinating Innovation and Protection of Intellectual Property Rights;
- Coordinating the Impact assessment of the Boards decisions;
- Coordinating Strategic collaborations and partnerships; with the stakeholders;
- Coordinating the preparation and implementation of the Boards performance contract;
- Monitoring and evaluating the Boards performance contract;
- Carrying out Inquiries, Studies and Research on matter relating to competition and consumer protection;
- Coordinating the preparation and implementation of the Boards quality management system through quality assurance programmes;
- Coordinating the development of the Boards annual work plans and resource needs and prioritize its activities;
- Coordinating risk management of the Board;
- Coordinating the implementation of business process reengineering initiatives;
- Coordinating policy advocacy initiatives in engineering;
- Managing knowledge and information; and
- Coordinating the preparation of Annual reports for the Board.
Person Specification
For appointment to this position, an officer must have: -
- Have at least ten (10) years relevant work experience three (3) of which of which should have been in management level in public or private institution;
- Have Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
- Have Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
- Be registered with a professional body where applicable;
- Have a certificate in professional qualifications in quality systems, risk management or related field from a recognized institution;
- Have a Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Have proficiency in computer application;
- Have demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results; and
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution.
