JOB DETAILS:

Background

Kitui County is located 170Km to the South East of Nairobi City. It covers an area of about 30,496 km2. It borders Machakos and Makueni Counties to the West, Tana River County to the East, Taita-Taveta County to the South, and Embu and Tharaka- Nithi Counties to the North.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Undertaking diving and underwater search and rescue operations.
• Assisting in the recovery of persons, bodies and property from water bodies.
• Responding to drowning and other water-related emergencies.
• Operating and maintaining diving and rescue equipment.
• Participating in water rescue drills and emergency preparedness activities.
• Maintaining records of diving and rescue operations.
• Observing prescribed safety procedures during diving operations.
• Performing any other related duties as assigned.

Requirements for Appointment

• Be a Citizen of Kenya;
• KCSE certificate or its equivalent.
• Possession of a recognized diving certificate.
• Ability to swim and undertake diving operations in running and stationary waters.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in water and emergency situations.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Training in water rescue and/or first aid will be an added advantage.

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: high school
