Background

The Koitaleel Samoei University College (KSUC) was formed through a Legal Notice as a College of the University of Nairobi. In the mirror image of the mentoring university, KSUC will have 7 campuses, one in each sub-county of the Nandi County, and a Teaching Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing transport management;
  • Driving motor vehicles as authorized;
  • Carrying out minor mechanical adjustments;
  • Recognizing and reporting mechanical defaults of the vehicles;
  • Ensuring compliance with NTSA and other government regulations;
  • Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
  • Monitoring and reporting expiry of insurance policies for motor vehicles;
  • Preparing and submitting reports on transport when need arises; and
  • Ensuring safety of passengers and/or goods therein;
  • Guiding and supervising other drivers in the University College.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of six (6) years relevant work experience;
  • At least a mean grade D plain in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Occupational Trade Test I Certificate;
  • A valid driving license free from any current endorsements(s) for classes of the vehicles the driver is required to drive;
  • A defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) or its equivalent qualification from any other recognized institution;
  • A First Aid Certificate course from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution not more than one (1) year old;
  • Refresher course for drivers lasting not less than one (1) week every three (3) from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • An accident-free driving period of nine (9) years.
  • Demonstrated merit and ability in driving and maintenance of vehicles;
  • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution
