Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities entail: -

  • Driving vehicles as authorized;
  • Keeping up to date work tickets for vehicles;
  • Cleaning of the assigned motor vehicle;
  • Preparing and submitting regular reports on motor vehicle assigned;
  • Maintaining a proper mechanical working condition of the vehicle;
  • Ensuring security and safety of passengers and vehicle on and off the road;
  • Ensuring possession of all the requisite documents for any specific journey;
  • Adherence to or observations of traffic laws;
  • Reporting any incidents to police and/or the office immediately they occur; and
  • undertake any other functions as may be lawfully assigned.

Job Specification

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:

  • At least two (2) years proven driving experience;
  • At least a mean grade D (plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Valid driving license free from any current endorsements(s) for classes of the vehicles the driver is required to drive;
  • Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade I from the Ministry of Roads and Public Works;
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct;
  • First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution; and
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
