JOB DETAILS:
Background
The National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) is a state corporation established under the State Corporations Act, Cap. 446 and the NDMA Act, 2016. The Authority is mandated to establish and operationalize mechanisms for drought risk management and to coordinate the implementation of drought risk mitigation measures in Kenya.
Responsibilities
The Drought Management Coordination Officer II will be responsible for:
- Coordinating drought management activities at the county level.
- Collecting and analyzing drought-related data.
- Preparing drought early warning reports.
- Facilitating the implementation of drought mitigation measures.
- Liaising with stakeholders on drought management issues.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Geography, Disaster Management, or a related discipline.
- At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in drought management or a related field.
- Strong analytical and report writing skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of drought management policies and strategies in Kenya.
