The Micro and Small Enterprise Authority (MSEA) is a state corporation established under the Micro and Small Enterprise Act No. 55 of 2012. The Act was developed through a stakeholder’s consultation process which took several years. The Authority is now domiciled in the Ministry of Industry,Trade and Co-operatives
Responsibilities or duties
- Implementing policies, projects and programmes in relation to Micro and Small Enterprise;
- Draft proposals for funding
- Implementing MSE programmes and projects
- Counselling MSEs on their enterprise-related matters
- Liaising with stakeholders on program implementation
- Compiling training and exhibition reports
- Assist in coordinating regional events and programmes
- Preparing periodic and quarterly reports
- Collating project implementation reports and programmes relating to or affecting MSEs.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Administration, Strategic Management, Agri-Business, Marketing, Economics; Commerce, Enterprise Development; Human Resource Management/Development; Art and Design or any other social science from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer application
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
