Job Responsibilities
- Monitoring the state of inland freshwater, coastal and marine resources on a regular basis;
- Taking inventory of aquatic ecosystems to assist in their proper management, identifying appropriate measures to prevent or minimize pollution;
- Collecting and collating information for development of management plans;
- Liaising with lead agencies, the private sector, NGOs and communities on wetland conservation and management activities;
- Developing national wetlands inventory;
- Implementing national Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) Plan and ICZM Policy;
- Implementing relevant Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs).
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Aquatic Ecology (fresh water), Wetlands Management, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Aquatic Engineering, Coastal and Marine resources management, Marine Ecology, Marine Management, Marine Spatial Planning, Oceanography or any other relevant field from a recognized institution
General Qualifications
Proficiency in computer applications
