Background information about the job or company (e.g., role context, company overview),

Football Kenya Federation (Football Kenya/FKF) is the governing body that runs and manages football in Kenya.

The Ethics Committee is one of FKF's three judicial bodies, established under Article 64 of the FKF Constitution, with its specific functions governed by Article 66. Article 64 provides that FKF's judicial bodies — the Disciplinary Committee, the Ethics Committee and the Appeals Committee — are composed of a Chairperson, a Deputy Chairperson, and the number of members deemed necessary for the due completion of their tasks. Members are elected by the General Assembly, upon proposal of the National Executive Committee, for a term of four years, and may not simultaneously sit on the National Executive Committee, the Electoral Committee, a standing committee, or any other body of FKF.

Responsibilities or duties,

Within this framework, and in accordance with Article 66, the Ethics Committee's function is governed by the FKF Code of Ethics. It is divided into an Investigatory Unit and an Adjudicatory Unit; the Adjudicatory Unit may only pass decisions when at least three members are present, save that the Chairperson may, in certain cases, rule alone. The Committee may pronounce the sanctions described in the Constitution, the Code of Ethics and the Disciplinary Code of FKF on Officials, Players, clubs and match and players' agents.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills),

Article 64(3) of the FKF Constitution requires the Chairperson of each judicial body to be qualified to practice law. FKF applies the same standard to both Deputy Chairperson roles as a matter of governance practice, given their role in chairing their respective Units.

  • Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB); a master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Kenya School of Law) and admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, holding a current practicing certificate — required for all three chairing roles.
  • Membership of the Law Society of Kenya in good standing.
  • Working familiarity with the FKF, CAF and FIFA Statutes and Codes of Ethics.

Experience needed,

Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in legal practice; prior investigative, prosecutorial or compliance experience is a strong advantage for the Investigatory Unit Deputy Chairperson specifically.

Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes).
