Are you a numbers-driven strategist with a passion for the fast-paced world of logistics?
We are seeking a versatile and proactive Finance & Operations Executive to join our client's team.
This unique role sits at the heart of our business, blending meticulous financial management with operational oversight and strategic business development. You won't just be managing the books; you’ll be driving the growth and efficiency of our entire logistics network.
Key Responsibilities.
1. Financial Management & Planning
- Core Accounting: Maintain accurate general, revenue, and expenditure ledgers. Perform bookkeeping and document all financial transactions with precision.
- Ledger Oversight: Manage AP, AR, and Cash Book modules, ensuring all funds are posted to correct accounts and intercompany ledgers remain balanced.
- Audit & Review: Audit accounts payable, purchase orders, invoices, and payment vouchers to ensure total compliance and accuracy.
- Cash Flow Mastery: Manage the full cycle of debt collection and creditor payments.
- Reconciliations: Prepare periodic reconciliations for Vendors, Debtors, Bank, and Cash, passing necessary journal entries.
- Reporting & Budgeting: Generate weekly/monthly/quarterly aging reports and sales registers. Assist the Corporate Finance Lead in budget validation and the creation of visual data (graphs/spreadsheets) for Director approval.
- Logistics Dispatching: Supervise the scheduling of trips and route planning to ensure maximum client satisfaction
- Process Optimization: Support daily logistics operations
- Market Growth: Identify new business opportunities and support the acquisition of new logistics contracts.
- Relationship Management: Act as a bridge between the organisation and external partners, ensuring smooth operational transitions and high service standards.
Skills, Competencies, and Experience.
The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:
- Experience: At least 5 years in a dual Finance/Operations role, preferably within the logistics or supply chain sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in sage accounting software Analytical Mindset: Ability to transform raw financial data into actionable operational insights.
- Communication: A strong negotiator who can manage debtor collections and vendor relations professionally.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications (CPA-K/ACCA) are a requirement.
