JOB DETAILS:

Food Security Lecturer (School of Health Sciences)

• Teach the principles of food security, food systems, and sustainable nutrition interventions.
• Develop curriculum on food policy, food safety, and the link between nutrition and disease prevention.
• Guide students in assessing household food insecurity and designing community-based food programs.
• Supervise research on food supply chains, post-harvest management, and nutritional surveillance.
• Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.
• Carrying out a needs assessment for curriculum; identify the content gaps in order to produce competent graduates.
• Participation in the University activities: open day, field day, exhibition for the enhancements of the image of the University.
• Interpret curriculum in a bid to synthesize the content and disseminate the same to the learners.

REQUIREMENTS: PARTTIME LECTURER

• Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
• Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
• Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;
• At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.
• Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered
• Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing Terms and Conditions of Service.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: postgraduate degree
