Food Security Lecturer (School of Health Sciences)
- Teach the principles of food security, food systems, and sustainable nutrition interventions.
- Develop curriculum on food policy, food safety, and the link between nutrition and disease prevention.
- Guide students in assessing household food insecurity and designing community-based food programs.
- Supervise research on food supply chains, post-harvest management, and nutritional surveillance.
- Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.
- Carrying out a needs assessment for curriculum; identify the content gaps in order to produce competent graduates.
- Participation in the University activities: open day, field day, exhibition for the enhancements of the image of the University.
- Interpret curriculum in a bid to synthesize the content and disseminate the same to the learners.
REQUIREMENTS: PARTTIME LECTURER
- Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
- Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
- Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;
- At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.
- Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered
- Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing Terms and Conditions of Service.
