JOB DETAILS:

REPORTS TO: UNIT MANAGER

a) Job Purpose

• Assisting the nurse with basic patient care.

b) Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintaining a clean patients/ section environment in the unit.
• Escorting stable patients on discharge within and outside the hospital including porter's services.
• Cleaning/ decontaminating the linens and instruments after procedure.
• Assembling the required items for admission.
• Ensure superior customer experience for all internal and external customers.
• Assist the nurse in bed baths, bedmaking, feeding stable patients and any other tasks assigned by the nurse within the patient attendant's scope of practice.
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.

c) Minimum Requirements/ Qualifications

• Certificate in Health Care Assistant Course/ Patient attendant course.
• Updated Basic life support certification.
• 2 years of working experience in a busy hospital set-up.

d) Key Job Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
• Must be reliable and can work under minimal supervision.

Experience in Months: 24

Level of Education: bachelor degree
