JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head Engineer to lead our engineering department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations, ensuring the efficient and reliable functioning of our hospital's infrastructure and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and management for the engineering department.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of all hospital facilities, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for hospital equipment and infrastructure.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team.
- Prepare and manage the department's budget and control operational costs.
- Coordinate with other departments to support the hospital's operational needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Must be a registered engineer with the relevant professional body in Kenya.
- Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience in facilities or plant management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in a hospital or similar critical environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of building management systems, HVAC, power systems, and medical gas systems.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
