Job Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement the annual bank marketing plan to guide all the marketing and communications activities for the bank, once approved by the CEO.
- Implement product marketing plans working with business units in line with the overall bank strategy that delivers bank objectives and market penetration.
- Establish mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the marketing strategy/plans and milestones towards achievement of the same.
Branding, Marketing and Advertising
- Implement visibility and branding programs in line with Group guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to the brand guidelines in all marketing activities in DIB.
- Work with the Advertising Agency to plan and implement creative concepts and ensure adherence of DIB brand standards.
- Design and layout of the quarterly financial publications and ensuring that they are published in the local daily and DIB website.
- Plan and implement marketing, promotional, and product campaigns; above the line, digital, and below the line; with the business units.
- Work with the Products Unit and New Product Committee to provide marketing input during the product development process for new/revamping products and services.
- Manage the digital communication channels of DIB, including social media handles, website, and Google handle.
- Manage social media and digital presence and direct programs to improve digital reputation and recognition.
- Liaise with the website maintenance agency to ensure that the website is current and up-to-date and the web domain is live and optimized.
- Work in conjunction with the procurement unit to source promotional and marketing material items and liaise with suppliers to ensure DIB standards are achieved in production and timely delivery.
Business Development
- Oversee the referral system within the department and ensure that business leads and prospective business are appropriately directed to the business development functions.
- Supervise the professional preparation of statistical reports for the information and evaluation of all marketing activities within one week of execution.
Communications
- Liaise with the media and PR agencies to highlight a positive image and cover all important events of the Bank.
- Develop press releases for the Bank's key milestones, such as product launches, acquisitions, key appointments, CSR initiatives etc.
- Develop media advisories for different media to attend key events of the Bank.
- Identify and coordinate media interviews for various bank spokespeople
- PR Writing—Develop speeches, talking notes, features, articles for the Bank, event programs, etc.
- Drive high-quality, timely internal communication within the bank.
- To achieve minimal reporting for DIB in Kenya.
Media Management
- Regular monitoring for feedback on all media advertisements and coverage and keeping records of the same, i.e., copies of news stories or advertisements and online coverage.
- Responsible for developing media content, e.g., TV and radio scripts, features, etc., for the bank.
- Responsible for planning of online, TV, and radio advertisements and messages within agreed timelines.
- Responsible for media planning and rollout.
- Monitor the bank's visibility/exposure on contracted media such as TV, radio, etc., to ensure maximum exposure as stipulated in the signed agreements/contracts & keep a regular update of contract timelines.
Events Management
- To oversee the successful hosting of bank events such as exhibitions, launches, client cocktails, BOD functions, anniversary events etc in the most cost-effective manner.
Market Research
- To oversee, if engaged by the Bank, formal external research and brand audits on different facets of the Bank
- To contribute to establishing a comprehensive client database that allows data mining.
- Manage brand research and agencies.
Other Duties
- Any other duties assigned from time to time.
Financial Performance
- Managing the development and implementation of the Bank's marketing and corporate affairs's budget in as optimum a manner as possible, in close liaison with the CEO.
Employee Performance & Satisfaction
- Organize, manage, and motivate the available human capital within the marketing department through the establishment of a suitable organizational structure and the implementation of development programs to optimize innovation, competence, and productivity.
- Carry out internal departmental training on brand-related matters.
- Contribute to staff dissemination and capability building regarding the DIB brand and philosophies.
- Manage employee engagement programs with a view to building a passionate workforce.
- Managing, coaching, and developing a high-performance team to meet set deliverables.
Innovation/Change
- Drive the effective management of innovation and change within the department.
- Where possible, devising new and efficient work methods and processes within the department.

Other Requirements
Education
- Degree in Marketing or Business Administration or Communications
- A master's degree will be an added advantage
Experience
- 10 years in marketing/advertising discipline in financial services and/or telecoms, with at least 3 years of senior level/managerial experience.
