About the Role

The Head of Primary School is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Primary School section (Kindergarten to Grade 5). This includes curriculum development and implementation, staff management and professional development, student welfare and academic progress, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The Head of Primary School will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the Academy's strategic goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the Primary School.
  • Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
  • Lead, manage, and inspire a team of dedicated teachers and support staff.
  • Ensure a high standard of teaching and learning, promoting student engagement and achievement.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
  • Manage the Primary School budget and resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with parents and the wider school community to build strong partnerships.
  • Contribute to the overall strategic development and operational management of the Academy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in educational leadership, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within an international school setting.
  • Proven experience with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is essential.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, pedagogical best practices, and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the holistic development of students.
