Key responsibilities

  • Design and lead Growth Africa's people strategy, aligning talent, culture, and systems with our mission and growth.
  • Drive talent acquisition, engagement, and retention by working with relevant partners and ensuring talent is available across all organisational levels.
  • Manage and optimise the onboarding process to ensure it effectively supports business objectives.
  • Lead all learning and development activities across the organisation, including needs assessment, development planning, and the identification of implementation and delivery partners.
  • Manage staffing across core business activities, ensuring resources are effectively coordinated and allocated.
  • Oversee and cultivate organisational culture, ensuring our values are lived daily and that all team members can thrive with clear goals.
  • Manage compensation and benefits using industry benchmark standards and ensure best practice is applied.
  • Manage the performance management and appraisal process using established practices and tools.
  • Oversee HR policies, processes, procedures, and systems, ensuring consistent administration and alignment with organisational goals and values.
  • Play a pivotal role in maintaining organisational engagement and ensuring a motivated and engaged team.
  • Deliver reports on talent strategy, acquisition, retention, and engagement, ensuring leadership has the insights needed to make informed decisions.

Qualifications & requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Organisational Development, Behavioural Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in strategic HR related roles.
  • Strong track record of translating business strategy into comprehensive people strategies, advising leadership on talent, capability development, and organisational effectiveness.
  • Extensive hands-on experience driving end-to-end people strategy and operational excellence across talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, engagement, compensation, succession planning and learning and development.
  • Proven experience in leading diverse and geographically dispersed teams across East, South, West, and the Horn of Africa.
