Role Outline
This role is intended to recruit qualified HGCV drivers who will solely be deployed for night shunting operation at DHL client(KBL) site, Safe, efficient , and timely loading of products at KBL site, timely docking trucks at the loading bay, shunting loaded trucks to Kasarani, using heavy goods commercial motor vehicle meeting company, client, customer and legislative requirement.
About the role Key duties and responsibilities
- Ensure timely vehicle turn around / Loading time to be within time within the set KPIs.
- Responsible for the vehicle safety and standard quality requirements, including all legal requirements by law.
- Ensure that the vehicle in use is in good condition for delivery and any anomaly is reported in good time for corrective measure.
- Drive DHL company vehicle within the approved routes, practice patience with other road users in a manner that upholds DHL values.
- Ensure you are familiar with the standard operating procedures for loading and offloading at the client site. This includes ensuring all documentation related to delivery and from delivery are dully filled and signed where necessary and returned to the appropriate offices.
- Exercise care and caution, adhere to traffic laws and regulations while handling DHL fleet both on road and at customer site.
- Timely reporting of all potential risks, near misses, breakdowns and accidents to your immediate supervisors.
- Complete routine vehicle checks and ensure that the vehicle achieves the set target of fuel consumption (Km/L)
- Caution and safety on the road is to be exercised at all times and adhere to the working time directive.
- Representing DSC in a professional manner to customers.
- Adhere to all DSC Health and safety rules and regulations and those of our clients.
- Adhere to document and process flow requirements for trucks entry, loading and exiting customer site.
- Adhere to all DCT requirements and filling all trips on tramm mobile.
- Timely exit loaded trucks to Kasarani as when directed by executors to efficiently manage TAT.
- Any other duties assigned to me.
About you
- O level school certificate
- HGV Driving license
- Minimum 3 yrs driving experience
- Flexibility to work shift patterns and odd days.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- English and Kiswahili both spoken and written.
- Certificate in Mechanics is an added advantage
