POSITION OVERVIEW

On behalf of a leading audit and professional services firm with operations across East Africa, we're recruiting an experienced Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP). The HRBP will act as a strategic partner to leadership, aligning people strategy with business objectives while supporting operational excellence, compliance, and talent growth across multiple offices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Partners, Directors, and senior leadership to align HR strategy with business and growth objectives.
  • Provide strategic HR advisory support on organization design, workforce planning, and performance management.
  • Lead talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning for professional and support staff.
  • Drive performance management frameworks aligned to audit and advisory business models.
  • Oversee employee relations, disciplinary processes, and compliance with labor laws across East African jurisdictions.
  • Provide HR input into business development initiatives, proposals, and client engagements where required.
  • Support bid teams with staffing models, cost structures, and people-related inputs for proposals.
  • Ensure HR policies, systems, and processes are standardized and consistently applied across offices.
  • Monitor HR metrics and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate HR audits, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Support regional mobility, secondments, and cross-border assignments within East Africa.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MSc HRM) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 years progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a strategic HRBP or senior HR role.
  • Prior experience within audit, professional services, consulting, or financial services is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment and labor laws across Kenya and the wider East African region.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leadership in complex, multi-location organizations.
  • Membership with IHRM or a recognized HR professional body is required.
