Responsibilities or duties

The Human Resources Officer is responsible for supporting the organization's human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits administration, compliance with labor laws, and maintaining employee records. The role helps foster a productive, compliant, and positive work environment.

Qualifications or requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-CP, CIPD) is an added advantage.

Experience needed

Relevant experience in human resources, typically 2–5 years depending on the role.

  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new employees.
  • Prepare employment contracts and offer letters.
  • Maintain recruitment records and reports.
  • Address employee concerns and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Support conflict resolution and disciplinary processes.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate employee performance appraisal processes.
  • Monitor performance review schedules and follow up on action plans.
  • Support managers in implementing performance improvement initiatives.
  • Identify employee training needs.
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs.
  • Maintain training records and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Support payroll administration by maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Administer employee benefits, leave management, and insurance schemes.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding compensation and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Prepare HR reports and workforce statistics.
  • Update and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies.
  • Ensure adherence to employment legislation and company policies.
  • Support workplace health and safety initiatives.
  • Participate in internal and external HR audits.
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-CP, CIPD) is an added advantage.
