The key deliverable for the role is to design, develop and implement comprehensive human resource strategies, policies and procedures in support of the business and to attract, develop and retain high calibre staff for the company.

Qualifications.

University Degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent qualification.

Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or equivalent.

Knowledge of Kenyan Labour Laws, HR compliance, operations and analytics.

Membership to relevant professional body such as IHRM.

At least 8 years working experience with at least 5 years in a similar or equivalent position.

Insurance sector experience will be advantageous.

Key Roles:

Develop and equitably implement HR policies and procedures that ensure the Company complies with the labour laws and best HR practice.

Coordinate the manpower resourcing in accordance with the requirements of the Company’s strategic plans.

Develop and administer the Company’s long term retention strategy.

Prepare Board papers and lead discussions in the Company’s HR committee meetings.

Oversee the staff development plans, trainings and programs to support the Company’s business plan and to ensure that staff have the necessary skills to meet their objectives and the opportunity to develop their full potential.

Develop and maintain a reward and remuneration strategy to ensure that the Company is attracting, retaining and motivating staff.

Oversee HR administration by establishing and implementing appropriate HR systems.

Establish efficient processes for employee relations and advise both management and staff to ensure effective communication of the HR policies and procedures to all.

Enhancing performance management systems through the implementation of best practice methodologies and providing expert advice.
