Role Purpose
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing HR strategies, policies, and processes across C4 Transport and XCMG Kenya. The role ensures effective talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, training and development, and full compliance with Kenyan labor laws, with the objective of building a productive, engaged, and high-performing workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for all positions across both business units
- Ensure timely sourcing, selection, and onboarding of qualified candidates
- Coordinate induction programs to support employee integration
Performance Management
- Implement and manage performance appraisal systems
- Support managers in setting objectives, conducting reviews, and developing staff
- Monitor performance outcomes and follow up on development plans
Compensation & Benefits
- Administer payroll, benefits, and incentive schemes in coordination with Finance
- Conduct regular salary bench marking to ensure market competitiveness
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in payroll processing
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Manage employee grievances, disciplinary cases, and conflict resolution
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan employment legislation and internal HR policies
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
Training & Development
- Identify organizational and individual training needs
- Coordinate internal and external training programs
- Monitor training effectiveness and employee feedback
HR Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare and submit HR reports and workforce metrics
- Provide data-driven insights to management for decision-making
- Maintain HR dashboards and compliance records
Requirements
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree or recognized HR certification (e.g., CHRP) is an advantage
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources
- At least 2 years in an HR management role in Kenya
- Experience in transport, equipment, or rental industries is an advantage
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and employment practices
- Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with digital HR platforms is an advantage

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of confidentiality and ethical conduct
- Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving ability
- Organizational, leadership, and cultural sensitivity skills
- Proactive and results-oriented approach
Language
- Fluent in English and Swahili

Working Conditions & Remuneration
Work Environment: Office-based with regular interaction across departments
Work Schedule: Standard working hours, with occasional overtime during recruitment drives or employee matters
Travel: Occasional local travel to operational sites
Salary Range: USD 1,000 – 1,500 per month, depending on experience
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Employee turnover rate ≤10% per annum
- Recruitment time-to-fill ≤30 days
- Performance appraisal completion rate ≥95%
- HR audit and labor compliance score of 100%
- Employee satisfaction score ≥4 out of 5
