This will be the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the direct supervision of a designated officer.
Responsibilities or duties
Duties and responsibilities will entail: -
- Writing and test simple computer programs according to instructions and specifications;
- Assisting in the implementation of the computer systems;
- Conducting basic training of users on ICT systems;
- Undertaking repairs and maintenance of ICT equipment and associated peripherals;
- Installation and configuration of computer systems;
- Monitoring the performance of ICT equipment
- Providing user support for applications & systems;
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Job specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Diploma in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Information Communication and Technology (ICT), Systems Administration, Business Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Experience needed
This is an entry and training grade, so specific experience requirements are not detailed beyond the educational qualifications.

Successful candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of Leadership and Integrity set out in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and shall be required to present the following documents before the offer letter.
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (TCC);
- Certificate of clearance from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
- Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI);
- Dully filled and stamped Self-Declaration/Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
- Clearance certificate from approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
