About the role

Apeiro, a subsidiary of Sirius International Holding, is seeking an experienced IFS ERP Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize the database environments supporting our IFS Applications and IFS Cloud ERP platforms. This role is critical to ensuring the availability, performance, security, and integrity of business-critical ERP systems that support core operations across the organization.

What you'll do

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle or SQL Server databases supporting IFS Applications and IFS Cloud environments across Development, Test, QA, and Production.
  • Perform routine database administration activities including backups, restores, patching, upgrades, and health checks.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through SQL tuning, index optimization, and PL/SQL performance enhancements within IFS schemas.
  • Manage database capacity planning, storage allocation, and growth forecasting activities.
  • Implement and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) solutions including Data Guard, RAC, clustering, and replication technologies.
  • Support IFS environment refreshes, database clones, and data copies between environments.
  • Assist with IFS upgrades, patches, and service pack deployments from a database administration perspective.
  • Collaborate with technical and functional teams to troubleshoot database-related performance and configuration issues.
  • Manage IFS batch and background job scheduling and resolve database locking and performance issues.
  • Support integration middleware and interfaces including IFS Connect from a database and data management perspective.
  • Implement database security controls including user access management, role administration, and auditing.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, retention policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in security audits and vulnerability remediation activities for database systems.
  • Provide L2 and L3 support for database-related incidents affecting ERP operations.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations for critical production issues and incident resolution.
  • Maintain technical documentation covering database architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams to ensure end-to-end system reliability and availability.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4–8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with at least 2–3 years supporting IFS Applications or IFS Cloud environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration (11g, 12c, 19c, or later versions); SQL Server experience is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL development, SQL performance tuning, and query optimization techniques.
  • Experience with database backup and recovery solutions including RMAN, Data Guard, or equivalent technologies.
  • Familiarity with IFS Applications and IFS Cloud architecture, including middleware, IFS Connect, and environment topology.
  • Experience administering Linux or Unix servers supporting database environments.
  • Solid understanding of ERP data structures, batch processing, and enterprise system integrations.
  • Experience with database monitoring, performance management, and capacity planning.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity solutions for enterprise databases.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.

Nice to have

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent database certification.
  • Experience with IFS Cloud (SaaS/PaaS) deployments and cloud database services such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Scripting experience using Shell, PowerShell, or Python for automation of database administration tasks.
  • Experience with database and infrastructure monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Grafana, Nagios, or SolarWinds.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes for Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management.
