About the Project
The Institutional Clean Cooking Project aims to accelerate the adoption of clean cooking solutions in public institutions (schools, health facilities) across Kenya. The project will focus on developing sustainable business models, strengthening the capacity of local suppliers and service providers, and promoting policy reforms to create an enabling environment for institutional clean cooking.
Job Description
SNV is seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Institutional Clean Cooking Project Coordinator to lead the implementation of the Institutional Clean Cooking Project in Kenya. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of project activities, ensuring timely and effective delivery of project outputs and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Institutional Clean Cooking Project in Kenya.
- Manage project budget, resources, and timelines to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, NGOs, and community representatives.
- Coordinate project activities with other SNV projects and initiatives in Kenya.
- Ensure compliance with SNV policies, procedures, and donor requirements.
- Prepare and submit regular project reports to SNV management and donors.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and challenges.
- Contribute to the development of new project proposals and strategies in the clean cooking sector.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in project management, preferably in the development sector or clean energy.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the clean cooking sector in Kenya or similar contexts.
- Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in English and Swahili.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in project management.
- Experience in the clean energy or development sector is highly desirable.
- Experience working with government institutions and private sector actors.
