Responsibilities or duties

Instructional Design and Development

  • Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts to design, develop, and revise courses and learning experiences.
  • Apply evidence-based instructional design principles, learning theories, and Universal Design for Learning to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Develop multimedia and digital learning objects (e.g., video, simulations, interactive modules).

Faculty Support and Training

  • Provide training to faculty on pedagogy, instructional technology, and effective online/blended teaching practices.
  • Develop resources, workshops, and guides to enhance faculty capacity in using e-Learning systems and digital tools.

Instructional Technology Integration

  • Implement emerging educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Ensure seamless integration of tools with e-Learning, maintaining compliance with institutional policies and accessibility standards.

Quality Assurance and Evaluation

  • Utilizes digital tools to ensure quality of course development, tools, test accessibility, and compliance.
  • Conduct course reviews for alignment with academic standards and learning outcomes.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes through data analysis, student/faculty feedback, and instructional effectiveness assessments.

Research and Innovation

  • Research, recommend, and implement instructional technologies and multimedia tools that enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Learn new technologies and applications to assist course design.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Minimum Academic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, Learning Sciences, or a closely related field required.

Professional Qualifications / Membership to Professional Bodies/ Publication

  • Relevant professional qualification and membership, where necessary

Experience needed

Work Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in instructional design in higher education.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogical theories and instructional methodologies.
  • Proficiency with multimedia authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia).
