About the job

Pixel Systems is working with a partner in the East to modernize their internal data workflows and support systems. We are adding a Junior AI Support Specialist to our team to help manage the day to day operations of the custom AI tools we have built for them. This role is about making sure the technology we ship actually solves problems for the people using it, from troubleshooting model outputs to helping staff understand how to get the best results from the new software.

About Pixel Systems

We are a small, fully remote software agency that focuses on the practical side of technology. We do not build flashy consumer apps or marketing websites. Instead, we build the tools that businesses actually use to stay organized: admin panels, CRM integrations, and database migrations. Our clients come to us when they need to replace messy spreadsheets with reliable systems that work every time.

Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos to show our progress, and we hand over everything, including the code and documentation, when we are finished. We use stable, well tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be easy to maintain. We are a team of developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest industry trends.

The role

In this position, you will be the first point of contact for the AI systems we have implemented for our partner. Your work will involve monitoring how the AI models respond to user queries and identifying where the logic might be failing. You will help move data between different systems, ensuring that information from the database is correctly formatted for the AI to process. This is a fully remote role, so you will be responsible for managing your own schedule and communicating clearly with the rest of the team through our digital channels.

You will spend time cleaning up data, testing new prompts to improve accuracy, and writing internal guides to help the client's team use the tools more effectively. It is a mix of technical troubleshooting and proactive support. You will not be expected to build complex models from scratch, but you will be expected to understand how they interact with the rest of the application and fix issues as they arise.

What you bring

  • A curious mindset and a willingness to learn how different software systems talk to each other.
  • The ability to explain technical concepts to people who might not have a background in engineering.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple support tickets or data tasks at once.
  • A basic understanding of how web applications are structured.
  • Comfort with working in a remote environment where communication happens primarily through text and video.
  • Persistence when it comes to solving puzzles or finding the root cause of a bug.
  • Honesty about what you know and what you still need to learn.

Helpful background

This is an entry level role, but there are a few things that will help you get up to speed faster. If you have some familiarity with JavaScript or Python, that is a great start. Knowing how to write a basic SQL query to look up information in a database like Postgres is very useful. We use GitHub for version control, so understanding how to navigate a repository will be helpful. If you have ever experimented with APIs or used tools to see how data moves between web services, you will find that experience relevant here. Most importantly, we value a pragmatic approach to problem solving and a focus on getting things working.

Working at Pixel Systems

Working here means focusing on the work itself rather than office politics or endless meetings. We are a flat organization with very little management overhead. We expect everyone to be self sufficient and to take ownership of the tasks they are assigned. Because we are a small team, your contributions are visible and they matter. You will be helping real people, like warehouse managers or operations teams, do their jobs more efficiently. This is a paid position, and we offer a salary that is competitive for this role and the current market.

We believe in a healthy work life balance and the flexibility that comes with being 100 percent remote. We do not have an office, and we do not expect you to be at a desk for specific, rigid hours as long as the work gets done and you are available for our scheduled check ins. We value clear, direct communication and a lack of drama. If you enjoy building things that work and seeing them used in the real world, you will fit in well with our team.
