Duties & Responsibilities
Overhaul and repair mechanical equipment, including pump gearboxes, and other mechanical parts with minimal supervision.
Perform regular maintenance of workshop machines such as lathe machines, milling machines, grading machines, drilling machines, and shaper machines.
Use precision tools (Vernier caliper, dial gauge, micrometer) for measurement and calibration purposes.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of various bearing types and their applications, ensuring proper installation and maintenance.
Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members working under his supervision.
Conduct installation and ensure proper alignment of equipment outside the workshop.
Conduct repair and maintenance on sensitive pumps, including multistage water pumps.
Report any mechanical issues, malfunctions, or safety concerns to supervisors or the maintenance team immediately.
Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while at work, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others on site.
Perform both arc and gas welding as required for repairs and installations.
Qualifications
Minimum requirement of a K.C.S.E Certificate.
Final craft or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Plant option).
At least 3 years of proven working experience in the same position.
Occupational Health and Safety knowledge.
Good communication skills.
Working conditions
The job may require working in all weather conditions.
The position involves working in various outdoor environments, including dusty, noisy, or hazardous sites.
