Role Purpose

Lead the development of UNICEF’s Knowledge and Research Approach to strengthen evidence generation, knowledge management, and child thought leadership across Centers of Excellence and country offices, supporting the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scope existing knowledge and research, identify gaps, and propose new evidence generation.
  • Develop standards for quality sign‑off of evidence pieces.
  • Advise on systems and processes for knowledge governance and dissemination.
  • Collaborate with UNICEF CoEs, country offices, and partners to strengthen evidence use.
  • Contribute to institutional capacity for knowledge transfer and advocacy.
  • Deliver inception reports, SOPs, and governance standards for health evidence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • PhD in Public Health or related discipline.
  • At least 25–30 years’ experience in global public health, preferably with UNICEF.
  • Strong communication and writing skills for knowledge platforms.
  • Proven expertise in knowledge management, evidence synthesis, and child health programming.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in another UN language is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in multicultural environments.

Deliverables & Timeline

  • Inception PowerPoint and scoping analysis (by 20 August 2026).
  • Documentation of UNICEF’s child thought leadership priorities (by 20 September 2026).
  • SOPs and quality standards for evidence products (by 10 October 2026).
