Job Summary

The Lab Assistant at Kenafric Industries Limited supports food quality and safety testing, ensures compliance with health regulations, maintains laboratory equipment, records data, and assists with research and development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses to ensure food product quality and safety.
  • Assist in the calibration and maintenance of lab instruments and equipment.
  • Record experimental data accurately and prepare reports on findings.
  • Participate in research and development of new food products.
  • Comply and enforce health and safety regulations and maintain a clean lab environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production and quality control to improve product standards.
  • Compile and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting areas of success and those requiring improvement.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications and training in ISO 9001, 14001, 22000, 45001, HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP.
  • Proven experience in a QA leadership role, preferably within the food or related industry.
  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant quality management software.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with attention to detail.

  • Practical experience in laboratory testing and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and lab safety practices.
  • Ability to handle lab equipment and conduct accurate analyses.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Proactive, reliable, and committed to maintaining high-quality standards.
