Clinical Nurse, Endoscopy

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the above position based in Nairobi Kenya. The position holder will report to the Supervisor Endoscopy Unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct head to toe assessment before procedure to identify care needs and plan effective nursing interventions to meet those needs
  • Ascertain patient readiness for procedure using a checklist i.e. confirms consent, IV access, and Vital signs
  • Confirm equipment are clean and in working order before start of the procedure
  • Assist the physician during the procedure either as a scrub or circulating nurse
  • Administer IV medication and fluids as prescribed
  • Monitor patients during procedure, ensuring patient safety, stability and dignity is maintained throughout the procedure
  • Provide post procedure care and assesses patient’s readiness for discharge from the unit
  • Maintain accurate record of patient’s condition, procedures and medications.
  • Ensure discharge instructions from Endoscopy Unit are clear and documented, and hands over the patients to the floors or their families
  • Provide safe environment for patients through adherence to infection control practices, timely safety checks on oxygen source, suction and other equipment used in the unit
  • Take accountability for efficient use of consumables and practices judicious stock control at all times i.e. accurate and timely billing of used CSSD items and unit drugs
  • Responsible for safe use of equipment through cleaning, storage, per shift checks of the inventory and timely reporting of non-functional equipment to the unit supervisor
  • Participate in unit based continuing education and monitoring of identified unit based quality indicators
  • Participate in unit based nursing education, quality improvement (QI) projects, clinical care program certification (CCPC), audits, spot checks and skill checks

Requirements:

  • RN from a recognized school of nursing or University
  • Current licensure with the Nursing Council of Kenya
  • Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Demonstrate evidence based knowledge of current practices in Medical-Surgical nursing

Indian Cook, Food Services

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the above position based in Nairobi Kenya. The position holder will report to the Head Chef, Food Services Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day kitchen operation (Indian Section)
  • Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of items in accordance with menus
  • Ensure food should be presented, preparation and service must up to par in the kitchen
  • Assisting in inventories, stock ordering management
  • Ensure kitchen safety and food hygiene are followed in accordance with HACCAP standard
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of all food items
  • Hands-on-experience in Indian cuisine is preferred
  • Ensuring that food is cooked as per the recipes for consistency to uphold the quality standards of the department
  • Serve food on time to meet the quality objective of the department
  • Ensure that the working area is constantly clean by applying clean as you go principles

Requirements:

  • Certificate in food production from a reputable institution
  • 2 years work experience in a busy catering establishment
  • Management of food safety based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control points (HACCP)
  • Knowledge of receipts in food production

Temporary Cook, Food Service

Job Purpose

To produce high-quality meals to patients and staff in a timely manner in line with the laid down recipes for consistency and be accountable for the use and storage of supplies used in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking food in the particular section for effective provision of catering services.
  • Ensuring that food is cooked as per the recipes for consistency in order to uphold the quality standards of the departments
  • Serving food on time to meet the quality objective of the department
  • Clearing all leftovers after services
  • Ensuring that the working area is constantly cleaned by applying the “clean-as-you-go” principle
  • Properly handle equipment in the kitchen and promptly report any faults to the Head Chef or Supervisor on duty
  • Any other duty as may be requested by the Supervisor

Qualifications and skills required

  • Minimum of a Certificate in Food production from a reputable institution or equivalent
  • K.C.S.E mean grade of C-
  • Minimum 6 months of work experience in a busy catering establishment
  • Training in the Management of food safety based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) management system is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of receipts in food production

Administrative Assistant, MMD Administration

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the above position based in Nairobi Kenya. The position holder will report to the Regional Director, Purchasing & Supply Chain Management Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and coordinate the activities and functions of the Director’s office.
  • Attend to all incoming and outgoing calls to the Director’s office.  Arrange conference calls, courier of mail, and receive sort and routine mail. 
  • Requisition stationery items for the Director’s office and create and maintain an up-to-date filing system.
  • Maintain, secure and account for office petty cash.
  • Organize the Director’s calendar by effectively planning and scheduling tasks and appointments.  Ensure the Director is updated of all relevant issues and meetings by communicating clearly and consistently with the Director.
  • Verify that all contract and clearing invoices are as per provided rate.
  • Process and update LPO in the contract file/LPO register.
  • Inform and communicate to all teams/MMD staff when shipments are arriving and arrange for documentation from clearing agents.
  • Receive and re-direct shipment(s) to the respective teams and update the weekly register with receipt data.
  • Receive and issue bonds within the same business day and follow-up with signatories to remain timely within target process/completion days.
  • Submit VAT, Bond Documents/Contract(s) and Clearing invoices within the required timeline.
  • Update Bond, Contract(s), Shipment, VAT and LPO for any cancellation in a timely manner.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the department supervisor or manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Diploma in Secretarial Studies/General Secretarial/Office Management
  • Degree in a Business Administration/ Office Administration/Office management added advantage
  • At least 2 years work experience
  • Computer literacy is mandatory
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated initiative.  Ability to set priorities and work effectively with minimum supervision
  • Able to work flexible/long hours when required
