JOB DETAILS:

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES  
Trucks offloading:

• Ensure to board the delivery trucks safely before the offloading process starts
• Follow the offloading instructions given on shipments offloading from the truck.
• Stacking of boxes on skids per shipment for correct placing in the cold-stores during
• Cleaning of airline equipment’s (ULDs) before they enter the cold-stores.
• Assist in moving the Shipments and Airline equipment’s (ULDs) through the cold-stores.
• Adhere to all PPE requirements, health and safety SOPs of the working place.

Cargo builds up /Palletization:

• Stacking the boxes on airline equipment’s (ULDs) in accordance to a contour.
• Application and tighten the buildup units (BUPs) nets.
• Assist in movement of buildup units (BUPs) through the cold-stores as directed.
• Handle all the working tools with utmost care.
• Reports any irregularity of shipments and or equipment to the Supervisor.
• Retrieve and correct folding and storage of all pallet covers.
• Keeps the workplace clean and tidy and assist in the Cold store where needed.
• Adheres to all PPE requirements, health and safety SOPs of the working place.
• Any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the team leaders

Cargo dispatch /Push outs

• Assist in movement of buildup units (BUPs) to the dispatch sections as directed.
• Ensure application and tightening of all the airline equipment’s (ULDs) nets.
• Pallet covers application on all units leaving the warehouse.
• Retrieve and correct folding and storage of all pallet covers after flights loading.
• Keeps the workplace clean and tidy and assist in the Cold store where needed.
• Adheres to all PPE requirements, health and safety SOPs of the working place.
• Any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the team leaders

Requirements

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Academic Qualifications;

• KCSE Certificate
• Additional training or certification in logistics, warehousing, or forklift operation is an added advantage.

Experience;

• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role within a logistics, warehouse, or cold chain environment.
• Experience handling perishable goods (e.g., flowers, produce, fruits) is highly desirable.

Technical Skills;

• Basic understanding of cargo handling procedures and palletization.
• Familiarity with ULD (Unit Load Devices) and airline cargo handling equipment.
• Ability to use manual handling tools and basic machinery safely.
• Knowledge of cold chain operations is an asset.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, move, and stack heavy boxes.
• Comfortable working in cold environments (refrigerated warehouses or loading bays).
• Physically fit and able to stand or walk for extended periods.

Behavioral Competencies:

• Attention to detail and a strong sense of safety and hygiene.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible
• High level of discipline, reliability, and punctuality.

Compliance:

• Must possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Ability to follow all health, safety, and security protocols.
