Role Overview

The field operatives of the Loss Control function. Four Shift Managers provide 24-hour coverage, conducting unannounced site inspections, stock verifications, fuel dip-stick checks, vehicle inspections, and investigations. Each manager is responsible for a shift pattern and a geographic area, rotating between farms, depots, abattoir, and distribution points. They are the Head of Loss Control’s eyes on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct unannounced inspections at farms, depots, abattoir, and distribution points
  • Physical stock counts and reconciliation against records
  • Fuel dip-stick checks on genset tanks and vehicle tanks
  • Investigation of reported incidents: theft, fraud, stock discrepancies
  • Evidence gathering and documentation for disciplinary and legal proceedings
  • Night patrols and spot checks during high-risk periods
  • Coordinate with Area Security Managers and depot auditors
  • Shift-based reporting to Head of Loss Control

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 3 years in loss control, investigation, military police, or corporate security
  • Experience conducting physical inspections and stock verification
  • Investigation skills: interviewing, evidence handling, report writing
  • Physically fit and willing to work shifts including nights and weekends
  • Valid driver’s license — extensive travel across Malawi required
  • Independent and courageous — willing to report findings regardless of consequences
  • Clean criminal record
