Background
The People and Culture Network (PCN) is a vital platform for UNICEF Regional Offices and Country Offices in Eastern and Southern Africa (ESAR) to share best practices, address common challenges, and foster collaboration in human resources and people management. The annual PCN meeting serves as a cornerstone event for the network. In preparation for the 2026 meeting, UNICEF seeks a consultant to facilitate the planning and execution of this crucial event.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for:
- Developing a detailed work plan and timeline for the facilitation of the 2026 PCN meeting.
- Collaborating with the ESAR People and Culture team to define the meeting objectives, agenda, and key discussion topics.
- Designing interactive and engaging session formats to maximize participation and learning.
- Facilitating virtual and/or in-person sessions, ensuring productive discussions and achievement of objectives.
- Documenting key outcomes, decisions, and action points from the meeting.
- Providing a post-meeting report with recommendations for future PCN meetings.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience in facilitating large-scale meetings, workshops, and conferences, preferably in a UN or international development context.
- Strong understanding of human resources principles and practices, particularly within the context of international organizations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to design engaging and participatory meeting agendas and activities.
- Proficiency in virtual facilitation tools and platforms.
- A Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Social Sciences, or a related field is desirable.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in facilitation and human resources is required.
Additional Notes
This is a low-value consultancy. The consultant will be expected to work remotely, with potential travel to Nairobi for key planning meetings if required. UNICEF is committed to diversity and inclusion.
