VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Emali-Sultan Hamud Municipality is seeking to fill the position of Market Cleaners. This is a 3 months' non-renewable contract position. The role requires individuals with General Labour skills and the ability to work per working day. The salary is Kshs. 420/- per working day.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure a high level of cleanliness of the markets within the municipality.
• Ensure proper management of the available solid waste transfer points and dumpsites.
• Ensure safety and maintenance of the working tools and equipment provided.
• Report safety hazards and any other related incidents to the supervisor.

Requirements for Appointment:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen and a resident of Emali-Sultan Hamud Municipality.
• A holder of National Identity Card.
• Have a M-Pesa registered sim card.

Interested Candidates should submit the following: -

1. Filled Application Form (available at all County Administration offices within the Municipality) clearly indicating market one wishes to clean;
2. Copy of National ID;
3. Recommendation from either of the following administrations; Sub-County Administrator, Ward Administrator, Village Administrator, Area Chief or Assistant Chief.

The above should be submitted at the Municipal Offices, in Emali town Eden Mall Building, 2nd (Second) Floor. NB: Only successful candidates will be contacted and Persons living with disability (PWD) are encouraged to apply. Application closes on Monday 22nd June 2026 at 5.00PM.

Recruitment will be conducted in two batches for the first two quarters of FY 2026/27: the first batch will serve from 1st July, 2026 to 30th September, 2026, and the second batch from 1st October, 2026 to 31st December, 2026.
