Background information about the job or company (e.g., role context, company overview)

Enko Education is a fast-growing network of African international schools, increasing access to the world’s best universities for learners across Africa. We offer an inclusive education, of outstanding quality, so that learners can access the world’s best universities and successful careers.

Role Context

Are you a creative, people-first go-getter with a passion for digital marketing and a talent for connecting with people? Do you thrive at the intersection of content creation, customer engagement, and data? Join Enko Education as a Marketing Intern at Kitengela International Schools (KISC) and play a frontline role in shaping how prospective families discover and choose our schools!

As a Marketing Intern, you will sit at the vital intersection of marketing and admissions — capturing inbound leads, nurturing prospective families, and amplifying KISC's brand presence across digital channels.

Responsibilities or duties

Your mission:

  • Convert leads into prospects: Be the first point of contact for inbound enquiries via phone, WhatsApp, email, and social media — responding professionally, qualifying leads, and booking campus visits.
  • Create and manage content: Produce compelling social media posts, reels, newsletters, and marketing assets using Canva and AI tools — building KISC's digital presence across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp.
  • Keep the CRM clean and current: Log every lead interaction in Pipedrive, maintain accurate pipeline stages, and ensure data hygiene so the admissions team can report with confidence.
  • Support campaigns end-to-end: From brief to post-event reporting, assist with enrollment-season campaigns, open days, and school events across all KISC campuses.

Your efforts will directly impact lead conversion rates, enrolment numbers, and KISC's brand visibility — making you a true contributor to the school's growth mission.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Screening & Conversion (Primary Focus)

  • Handle all first-response inbound enquiries via phone, WhatsApp, email, and social media DMs within agreed SLA.
  • Conduct initial screening calls using a structured qualification script to assess parent needs, curriculum fit, and timeline.
  • Classify and update leads in Pipedrive across all pipeline stages — from New Lead through to Campus Visit Scheduled.
  • Nurture warm leads through personalized follow-ups, school information packs, and event invitations.
  • Book and confirm campus visits and open day attendance, briefing the Admission Manager ahead of each visit.
  • Report weekly on lead volume, response times, qualification rates, and conversion to the Admission Manager.

Marketing Content & Digital Presence

  • Create and manage a monthly social media content calendar across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp for all KISC campuses.
  • Produce posts, stories, reels, newsletters, brochures, and event flyers using Canva and AI writing tools — aligned to Enko brand standards.
  • Capture school events, campus life, and student activities (photography and basic video) for use across marketing channels.
  • Draft parent-facing communications including newsletters, open day invitations, and campaign follow-up content.

Research & Reporting

  • Conduct regular competitor scans and report on positioning, fees, and messaging.
  • Track and report on social media performance, website traffic, and campaign results using platform analytics and Google Analytics.
  • Maintain marketing databases, mailing lists, and contact records in Pipedrive.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

What we're looking for

We are looking for proactive, organized, and people-first individuals who are energized by both creative work and human connection. Potential and attitude matter more to us than years of experience.

Here is what we value:

  • People Person: You genuinely enjoy speaking to strangers, make parents feel heard and welcomed from the very first call.
  • Self-Driven: You do not wait to be chased — you follow up leads proactively, flag blockers early, and deliver without reminders.
  • Organised Under Pressure: You can manage an open WhatsApp inbox, a content calendar, and a Pipedrive pipeline simultaneously without dropping anything.
  • Tech-Savvy: Confident with Canva, Google Workspace, AI content tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini), and CRM platforms.
  • Excellent Communicator: Strong written and spoken English is non-negotiable. Swahili is an advantage; French is a strong bonus given Enko's pan-African network.
  • Commercially Aware: You understand that every lead is a potential enrolment and treat every interaction accordingly.
