Responsibilities or duties

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Recruit and retain up lifters, hawkers, and stock points by identifying, training, and supporting entrepreneurs to enhance their sales and business skills.
  • Lead partner recruitment and manage agreements to support entrepreneur growth.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and facilitate capacity-building programs such as the MAUA Academy.
  • Manage local operations by liaising with distributors and sales teams to ensure stock availability and resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor and report on recruitment, training, market developments, and entrepreneur performance.
  • Organize monthly share-out sessions and motivational events for entrepreneurs.
  • Represent Maua Business in local events, forums, and stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

What are we looking for?

  • Ideally, you’ll have a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing livelihood improvement projects within the private sector or non-governmental organizations, with a passion for economic growth and improving quality of life for underserved populations.
  • You should hold a university degree or equivalent, preferably in Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, or Business Management.
  • Experience in distribution, community outreach, and people management is essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including working knowledge of Kiswahili, are a must.
  • You’ll be comfortable working in agile, startup-like environments and able to meet the physical demands of driving to remote areas and engaging with underserved populations.
