Mission To facilitate member health units in their provision of quality healthcare services through advocacy, health systems strengthening, networking and innovative health programme

CHAK has successfully implemented its 2026 Medical Officer Internship Programme, reaffirming its commitment to developing competent. compassionate and values-driven healthcare professionals for Kenya's health sector.

The programme culminated in the commissioning of 118 Medical Officer Interns under the theme "Called to Heal Committed to Serve."

"As you begin your internship journey, let compassion, integrity and excellence guide every patient you serve. Every encounter is an opportunity to make a lasting difference."

The CHAK 2026 Internship programme began with a series of sensitisation sessions held across five medical schools, reaching approximately 310 final-year medical students.

These interactive engagements introduced students to CHAK's internship programme and equipped them with practical knowledge on internship expectations, professional ethics, mentorship opportunities. labour rights, mental wellness and the unique experience of serving within CHAK health facilities

The sessions also created an open platform for students to engage with CHAK representatives and gain clarity on the internship application and placement process.

During the ceremony, the interns whose applications were received by CHAK in 2025, publicly affirmed their commitment to ethical medical practice through the Medical Officer Intern Pledge, signing of the CHAK Service Covenant, candle lighting and prayers of commissioning

Addressing the interns, CHAK leadership encouraged them to embrace lifelong learning, professionalism and compassionate patient care as they begin their internship joumey. During the ceremony the interns publicly affirmed their commitment to ethical medical practice through the Medical Officer Intern Pledge, signing of the CHAK Service Covenant. candle lighting and prayers of commissioning

By integrating student preparation with professional commissioning, the CHAK Medical Officer Internship Programme continues to strengthen the pipeline of future healthcare professionals. Through strategic partnerships with universities, member hospitals and regulatory bodies. CHAK remains committed to nurturing doctors who are clinically competent, ethically grounded and dedicated to delivering Quality Health Care for All to the Glory of God
