KEDA Kenya Ceramics Company Ltd is seeking a motivated and experienced Mining Specialist to join our Manufacturing Department (Sanitary Division). The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, sampling, testing, and ensuring the consistent quality of raw materials critical for ceramic manufacturing. This role also involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with local suppliers and communities to ensure a steady supply of compliant materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Geological Surveys & Sampling
  • Conduct geological surveys to identify raw material sources and perform accurate sampling for laboratory testing.
  • Raw Material Testing & Quality Control
  • Analyze and verify the quality of raw materials; compile and submit detailed test reports.
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Maintain strong working relationships with existing mineral suppliers and encourage them to provide new material samples.
  • Local Engagement & Intelligence Gathering
  • Engage with local county officials and landowners to gather data on potential mineral deposits.
  • Site Prospecting & Evaluation
  • Identify and assess new raw material mining sites to support business growth.
  • Inbound Specification Oversight
  • Monitor all inbound raw material deliveries to ensure they meet the company’s specifications.
  • On-Site Monitoring & Inspections
  • Conduct unscheduled site visits to oversee mining operations and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Supplier Guidance & Support
  • Provide quality standard guidelines to mining operators and suppliers and monitor adherence.
  • Issue Resolution
  • Address any raw material quality issues in collaboration with suppliers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on exploration or mining geology.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar mining or raw materials role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
