The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the monitoring and evaluation framework for all projects and programs at I&M Foundation. This role is critical in ensuring the expected impact (Quantitative and Qualitative) of programs is defined before implementing programs, measuring the impact, ensuring accountability, informing strategic decision-making, and supporting learning within the organization and to the partners.

Responsibilities or duties

  • M&E Framework Development: Develop and refine M&E frameworks, tools, and processes aligned with the Foundation’s strategy and values. Establish performance indicators and metrics to assess program outcomes and impact. Support grantee partners in strengthening their monitoring and evaluation capacities.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Lead the collection, management, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to track program performance and outcomes. Ensure data quality, consistency and integrity. Translate findings into actionable insights and evidence-based recommendations. Manage data to ensure efficient data storage and analysis.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare high-quality M&E reports for internal and external stakeholders to communicate results and insights.
  • Capacity Building: Train and support program staff and partners in M&E concepts, tools, and processes to ensure quality data collection and usage.
  • Learning & Improvement: Facilitate periodic reflection and learning sessions with teams to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure M&E processes meets the Foundation’s requirements and industry best practices for ethical and accurate data use.
  • Strategic Support: Provide MEL input into strategy development, program design and decision making. Contribute to impact narratives for communications, fundraising or stakeholder engagement. Keep abreast of trends, innovations and best practices in philanthropy, evaluation and social impact measurement

Qualifications or requirements

Experience needed

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 7+ years of relevant work experience in M&E, preferably within the non-profit or development sector.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E methodologies (e.g., RCTs, surveys, case studies, participatory evaluation).
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, STATA, Power BI, or similar).
  • Experience with digital data collection tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and present findings in a clear, actionable format.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
