Multimedia Journalist

The Multimedia Journalist is responsible for researching, producing, and publishing compelling stories across multiple formats—text, video, audio, graphics, and emerging digital formats—for Switch Media’s digital platforms and its clients. The role requires creativity, adaptability, and strong storytelling skills to create high-impact content that informs, engages, and grows audiences.

Content Creation & Reporting

  • Research, pitch, and develop original story ideas across news, features, human interest, lifestyle, business, and education.
  • Produce high-quality content in text, video, and visual formats tailored for digital consumption.
  • Conduct interviews, gather multimedia assets, and ensure factual accuracy and fairness in reporting.

Multimedia Production

  • Shoot and edit short-form and long-form videos using mobile journalism tools or video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro).
  • Write clean, SEO-friendly copy for web and social media with attention to headlines and metadata.
  • Collaborate with designers on info graphics, data visuals, and motion graphics where required.

Digital Publishing & Engagement

  • Publish content to the website and social platforms, ensuring formatting consistency, tagging, and optimal presentation.
  • Assist in live coverage of events, shoots, and breaking news situations, including live streaming and real-time social media updates.
  • Monitor audience responses and engage users through comments, polls, and other interactive formats.

Client & Commercial Support

  • Participate in creating branded content, sponsored stories, or client deliverables in coordination with the editorial and commercial teams.
  • Ensure editorial quality is maintained while meeting client expectations and brief objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS.

  • Degree or diploma in Journalism, Multimedia, Communications, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in digital or broadcast journalism with a multimedia portfolio
