Education, Knowledge and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or a diploma in Nutrition with relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in community-based nutrition programs, preferably in malnutrition management.
  • Experience with the PD Health model is an added advantage.
  • Registered with the Kenya Nutrition and Dietetics Institute (KNDI).
  • Knowledge of local language is an added.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication, and advocacy skills.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and adaptable to handling multiple concurrent tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Nutrition Officer will oversee the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Positive Deviance Health (PD Health) approach to community-based malnutrition management. This role entails working closely with health management teams, community health workers, and families to rehabilitate malnourished children and promote sustainable nutritional practices in target communities.

  5. Documentation and Reporting
  6. Collaboration
